Banquet Honors Those Who 'Transform Lives' in At-Risk University Area

From the University Area Community Development Corporation:

More than 1,200 residents, business partners, government officials and community leaders gathered June 12 at the University Area Community Development Corporation, Inc. (UACDC) and USF Area Community Civic Association (USFACCA) Annual Awards Banquet held at the University Area Community Center.

UACDC executive director and CEO, Dan Jurman, and volunteer chairman of the board, Commissioner Victor D. Crist, honored 30 grassroots programs that have made a difference in the lives of University Area Community residents. Through collaborations with these and many other leading organizations, the UACDC addresses the needs of residents, families and businesses to transform lives and take back the streets and the future of the University Area Community. With an established history and solid plan for the future, residents can safely grow and prosper for years to come by creating a community free from crime, gangs and violence.
