Update: Fowler, Bruce B. Downs Light Down
As storms continue to roll through the area, a number of traffic lights are reportedly not working.
Strong thunderstorms that have moved through the New Tampa area have reportedly wreaked havoc on the rush-hour commute.
Patch intern Carlos Hernandez just reported a major entanglement at the intersection of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard and Fowler Avenue. In a tweet he said: "Intersection of Fowler and BBD is out and #traffic there is very scary right now. #Tampa."
Earlier this afternoon, the Tampa Police Department posted this message on its Facebook page:
Due to the weather, there are several intersections with traffic lights out. There is a high volume of calls in dispatch and officers are working to get to the intersections to direct traffic. Drivers are reminded to treat intersections with non working lights as a four way stop.
