Scoggins was heading east on State Road 56 on the overpass around 1 a.m. as a semi truck driven by Hector Broche, 38, of Spring Hill was traveling north on the exit ramp, turning left onto State Road 56, trooper say. Scoggins’ 2007 Hyundai Tucson struck the rear of the semi, traveled into the median and then overturned.

Scoggins was taken by helicopter to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Broche was uninjured in the crash.
