Throughout September it's easy for Sweetbay shoppers to make a difference.

Sweetbay Supermarkets is teaming up with Food 4 Kids, a Junior League of Tampa Bay program and Pack-A-Sack, a United Methodist Cooperative Ministries initiative in Pinellas County, to provide weekend backpack meals to students in need who attend after-school programs in Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties.

Between September 6 through September 30, Tampa Bay area residents can stop in participating Sweetbay stores and donate a snack for $1 or a sack of snacks for $3. Sweetbay Supermarket will also make a financial donation to each organization.

The New Tampa Sweetbay store, at 17605 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., is participating in Food 4 Kids and Pack-A-Sack.
