Viral Mister Rogers Video Worth the Buzz?

New Tampa, tell us what you think of this auto-tuned song. Does it bring you back to simpler times?

Mashable said it will make viewers “cry tears of joy.” And the Los Angeles Times called it “totally awesome. … weird and catchy.”

PBS Digital Studios Thursday released “Garden of Your Mind,” an auto-tuned song and video featuring snippets from the children’s show “Mister Rogers' Neighborhood,” according to the Times. As of this evening, it had a stunning 800,000 views on YouTube.

In the video, Fred Rogers tells viewers to use their imaginations and be students of the world.

“Did you ever see a cat’s eyes in the dark and wonder what they were?” he says at one point. "Have you ever grown anything in the garden of your mind?"

What do you think of this viral video, New Tampa? Is it worthy of all the buzz, and did you watch "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" as a youngster? Tell us in the comments section below.

Okay, this video was a LOT better than I thought it was going to be, especially after I saw 'Mr. Rogers' and 'auto-tune' in the same sentence. But it was very lovingly done. I think that Mr. Rogers himself would have approved. That gentle voice of his always brings a tear to my eye. There's an important lesson in that simple song for people of all ages, if they'll only listen.
