Warrant Issued for Walmart Shooting Suspect

Police are looking for a Tampa man in connection with the crime.

 

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has identified a suspect in an April 15 shooting at Walmart, 2701 E. Fletcher Ave. Now, it’s looking for help to bring the man in.

According to a media release, deputies have identified Dylan Iwan Landvreugd, 19, of 914 North Bay St. E. as a possible suspect in the case.

The shooting took place around 5:40 p.m. last Sunday as the suspect and victim, Travis Gray, got into a verbal argument in the store, the release said. Gray, 20, attempted to leave the store, but the suspect followed him out.

A surveillance camera captured the suspect on film after the two men left the store. Landvreugd is seen pulling a 9mm handgun out of his waistband and then shooting Gray twice in the lower torso. Gray was taken to Tampa General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Gray and the suspect know each other, the release said.

A warrant for Landvreugd’s arrest on charges of aggravated battery with great bodily harm has been issued. Landvreugd is known to frequent the area of 140th Avenue East and 15th Street North, the release said.
