What We're Covering This Week

Heads up, New Tampa Patch readers!

It's a new week, which calls for a new storylist. Here's a taste of what New Tampa Patch will be bringing you over the course of the next few days:

  • The Meadow Pointe to K-Bar connector road issue. Will these two communities, two streets (Mansfield Boulevard and Kinnan Street) and two counties ever be connected?
  • Taco Bus recently opened on Fletcher Avenue to the delight of many. Yet New Tampa Patch found another Mexican eatery — not a taco bus, but a truck — just down the street and around the corner that has been quietly serving patrons for years. We recently chatted with the folks serving up the tamales, tacos and burritos.
  • We're setting up a time to chat with Dan Jurman, director and CEO of the University Area Community Development Corporation. What makes him tick? What does he see for the future of the University Area? We will answer these questions and more.

Have opinions on the issues mentioned above? Have a news tips? Send it my way at john.majeski@patch.com.

As a resident of Meadow Pointe, I vote 'No' on the connector between Mansfield and Kinnan.

Thanks for the comment, sg. I'm assuming you object because of traffic concerns?
