Wharton High School Performing Arts - Prism 2012
The Wharton High School Performing Arts programs are proud to present Prism 2012, a 360-degree concert experience. Music lovers will not want to miss this opportunity to be amazed and entertained by some of New Tampa’s most talented students! This year’s event is scheduled for Tuesday evening, December 18th at 7 pm in the Wharton High School Auditorium, and will feature creative contemporary and classical performances by student musical and theatrical ensembles and soloists. Exciting presentations by the award-winning Wharton Band, Jazz Band, and Orchestra are sure to be highlights of a thrilling evening. Tickets may be purchased at the door the night of the concert and are $5 for adults and $3 for students. Children 5 years of age and younger are admitted free.

Home of the Wildcats, Wharton High School serves more than 2,400 students. This school has been educating students since 1997. It is named for Paul R. Wharton who worked for the Hillsborough County School System for nearly 40 years.
Wharton High School boasts nearly 50 clubs and approximately 15 sports teams.
According to 2009-10 data from the state Department of Education, the racial make-up of the school is 39.3% white, 29.6% black, 22.2% Hispanic, 4.4% Asian and 4.4% other. About 40% are considred economically disadvantaged, according to the state DOE.
