Students Win Battle Over Library

Who Says You Can’t Fight City Hall (or, at least the administration at the University of South Florida)? Students who opposed the university’s decision to slash library hours to save money have won their fight, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Bulls will still be able to check out books 24/7 and the university will have to look elsewhere to cut spending.

There’s a new tropical storm out there that’s making waves near Puerto Rico, but it doesn’t look like she has her sights set on Tampa Bay. Even so, Gabrielle serves as a great reminder to get ready for when our weather does turn bad. Speaking of which, we’re looking at a 60 percent chance of storms and thunderstorms today, Sept. 6, according to the National Weather Service.
