Property Tax Woes for Pinellas County?

A brouhaha is brewing between Pinellas and Pasco county officials over a delinquent tax bill of almost $60,000, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Pinellas owns nearly 12,500 acres of land in Pasco purchased long ago for its water supply. The land, known as the Cross Bar and Al Bar ranches, is now used for agricultural purposes. After years of paying taxes on the land, Pinellas has decided to stop, citing exemptions. Pasco begs to differ and wants its cash. How do you think the issue should be resolved?

Rain Back in the Forecast

The relatively dry streak from over the long Labor Day weekend just might be over. Forecasters at the National Weather Service are calling for a 40 percent chance of rain today, Sept. 4. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to creep up mostly after noon. Even with the rain, expect it to get hot—very hot.
