Bring a canned dog food item and for the price of admission, all sorts of puppies and kittens will have a comfortable holiday season. Adopt a pet and the shelter will take a family photo, together with your newest family member, for free. The fun begins at 9 a.m. Cost: $5.

Saturday

  • Free Children's Storytelling: Youngsters can hear storytelling at the Book Swap of New Tampa, 1946 Bruce B. Downs Blvd beginning at 9:30 a.m. Arts, crafts and refreshments will be free as well.
  • New Tampa Little League registration: Registration continues for youngsters wanting to play in the New Tampa Little League system in 2012. Cost of registration ranges from $100-$160 depending on the league and age of the player. Prospective players must bring three forms of proof of residency.
  • Holidays with Horses is a unique way to enjoy the holiday season with the family. For either $5 or $10, Equestrian Inc., a nonprofit
