Oscar Mayer Wienermobile Rolling Into New Tampa

It will be at the New Tampa Walmart Sunday, Sept. 30.

One of advertising’s most recognizable vehicles is rolling into town.

The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile — a vehicle shaped like a hotdog on a bun, if you don’t know — is making stops in the Tampa Bay Area from Tuesday through Sunday (Sept. 26-30). Locally, it will be at the New Tampa Walmart, 19910 Bruce B. Downs Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 30).

“We will be going to a few grocery stores during our visit to meat people from the community, take free pictures with the Wienermobile, and hand out collectible Wiener Whistles,” according to a news release from Oscar Mayer.

The visit is part of a nationwide journey to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Wienermobile. According to Wikipedia, there currently are eight Wienermobiles in existence. Only college seniors who are about to graduate are eligible to be drivers.
