Pagelli's Wiregrass Shuts Down; Boutique Replaces Gingerbread Cottage

A roundup of business news in New Tampa and Wesley Chapel.

If you were digging the dishes at Pagelli’s Italiano in The Shops at Wiregrass, we have bad news to deliver: They have closed down.

Workers are refurbishing the space to make way for Ciao! Italian Bistro. The turnaround is quick. Pagelli’s closed down Sept. 30 and Ciao! will open for dinner Oct. 15 and Oct. 16, then begin offering both lunch and dinner starting Oct. 17.

Unlike most other eateries in the region, Ciao! is not a chain.

“This is our only one,” said owner and executive chef Jim Sargood. “Our plan is to get through the month, and Nov. 1 we’re doing our grand opening.”

Nor far from Wiregrass, Bobbie Rose Boutique recently opened up.

In addition to trendy clothing (yes, men’s items, too), the boutique carries handbags, jewelry and other accessories.

“It all started with my bath line, which I created in order to relieve my dry and flaky skin which was not addressed by products on the market,” according to the store’s marketing material. “Soon afterwards, I invested in my skincare and makeup line, all under the brand of Bobbie Rose of Florida. I was a small town girl raising a son on my own with a big dream. This is my dream come true!”

The shop opened in The Shoppes at New Tampa in the space once occupied by The Gingerbread Cottage.

Look for a story on the boutique in the near future.
