July 4th: What's Open, What's Closed in New Tampa

Most government offices are closed on Wednesday, July 4.

 

This just in from officials at Hillsborough County:

The majority of Hillsborough County offices and facilities will be closed on Wednesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

Closed facilities include the administrative offices of County government, neighborhood service centers, all libraries, all County-operated Head Start/Early Head Start Centers, recreation centers, senior centers and nutrition sites.

  • Animal Services: An event called Flags & Fur 'Til 4 will be held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., but on-call officers are available for emergencies by calling 813-744-5660. Regular hours resume on July 5.
  • Fire Rescue Administration, the Fire Marshall's Office and the Office of Emergency Management will be closed.
  • The county's information line, 813-272-5900, will be closed.
  • Head Start will be closed.
  • All county libraries will be closed.
  • All county recreation centers will be closed.
  • There will be no solid waste collection.
  • The Public Utilities Department's customer service and water service centers in Northdale and Brandon will be closed. Emergency calls regarding County water and wastewater service may be made to 813-744-5600.
  • The Clerk of the Circuit Court, property appraiser, tax collector and supervisor of elections will be closed.
  • Lastly, the offices of the Environmental Protection Commission will be closed.
