Things to Do This Weekend

Some ideas for today and tomorrow.

 (Saturday, Feb. 25)

  • Target is hosting free in-store reading events at all Target stores nationwide in celebration of the National Education Association’s (NEA’s) Read Across America program. Each event will include a reading nook inspired by Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax,” a reusable Target bag filled with activities for children, readings by Target team members, and more. This includes the Target in Wesley Chapel, 1201 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.
  • This weekend is the continuation of the Renaissance Festival. The theme Feb. 25 and Feb. 26 is "Wonders of the World" (includes a grape stomp, a world market, a BBQ competition, and state belly-dancing championship).
  • There is no entry fee for this event. Toast is a fine wine and cigar in New Tampa on Bruce B. Downs.
  • Canvas Management Group and Big Dogg Audio Presents: Calusa Music & Arts Festival, Tampa Bay's local music & arts showcase. Take a trip out of New Tampa and come experience the very best Tampa has to offer with incredible music, tasty food vendors, artistic displays, and unbeatable drink specials. Time: 5:30 p.m . to 2 a.m. Address: 1701 E 8th Ave.
  •  Every Saturday is Friends Night at Do Your Own Dishes, a paint-your-own-pottery studio and coffee house. Bring a friend and you both pay half price ($4 per hour after 5 p.m.).
