VIDEO: A Peek at New Tampa Nature Park

The park, which is east of Interstate 75 and south of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, opened on Monday.

The City of Tampa held a grand opening ceremony this week for a 122-acre expanse of greenery for walking, hiking and biking.

New Tampa Nature Park connects to Hillsborough County’s Flatwoods Park trail system. It includes two elevated boardwalks, a play area, zip line and picnic areas.

The late developer Ken Good first conceived of a nature park on the site in the 1980s, but the property languished for years.
