E-Books vs. Print Books

So what, as long as they are reading!

E-books seem to be the new craze. Many of my students use them in addition to the iPad.

My thought? I love it for them! I love the features that many of the e-books have. The capability to highlight the text, instantly find the definition of a challenging word, saving a page without having to fumble for a bookmark are all benefits that I notice my students taking advantage of.

But I am old-fashioned when it comes to personal use. I need the intimacy of curling up in bed with my book. I love the way the pages feel as I turn them, I love the Cheetos stain that I sometimes leave on the pages. I like the used look of a book when I have finished reading it.

Someone gave me a Nook as a Christmas gift. I use it, I like it, but I always gravitate to the old-fashioned print book.
