$8K in Jewelry Stolen From Watergrass Home

Police say the West Meadows burglary is similar to others that occurred earlier this year in the same area.

Someone broke into a Nest Fern Circle home in the Watergrass subdivision and swiped $8,000 worth of assorted jewelry Wednesday.

The incident occurred sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., according to Tampa police.

Electronics such as a flat screen television and laptop computer were undisturbed, and the home is near the end of the street and next to a conservation area.

“This incident is very similar to other burglaries that have occurred in this subdivision this year where the homes were close to a conservation area and only jewelry (was) targeted,” according to a Tampa Police Department District II report.

Police said the last similar burglary to occur in the subdivision, which is part of West Meadows, was on May 23.

Anyone with information about the above jewelry burglaries can call Tampa Police at (813) 931-6500.

Are you worried about theft in your neighborhood?

I have been dealing with vandals in this exact neighborhood. Wouldn't be surprised if this was an escalation of previous acts.

Sorry to hear that, Marty! I will contact you through email for more info. Anyone else experiencing similar problems over there?
