Armed Bandit Robs Sunoco Station

Have you seen this young man?

Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect who robbed a gas station at gunpoint.

Wearing a bandana across his face and wielding a firearm, a man came into the Sunoco Station at North 22nd Street and Bearss Avenue around 3:40 a.m. Monday (Oct. 8), according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. The thief demanded money and fired a shot into the floor.

The clerk, who was uninjured, obliged and the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said. He was last seen leaving the scene on foot, heading west on Bearss Avenue.

The suspect is described as a black male, 18-21 years old and about 5-foot, 7-inches tall. In the video still to the right, he is seen wearing a New Era Toronto Blue Jays hat, a white handkerchief covering his face, along with a dark shirt and light-colored cargo shorts.
