Crime Blotter: Auto Burglaries, $2,200 Worth of Electronics Stolen From Apartment

A roundup of recent crime in New Tampa.

The following crimes were recently reported to Tampa police:

Oct. 2, auto burglary. Where: Compton Place at Tampa Palms, Compton Drive. Someone entered an unlocked car parked at the complex and stole unnamed property from the trunk and console. The thief then fled.

Oct. 5, auto burglary. Where: Lowe’s parking lot, Bruce B. Downs and Tampa Palms boulevards. Someone broke the front driver’s side window of a parked car and stole a GPS device valued at $250. The incident occurred around noon. A similar theft occurred around the same time at the SweetBay Supermarket, Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, a short distance away.

Oct. 9, burglary. Where: 15200 block of Amberly Drive. Someone entered the screened enclosure of a residence and made off with the resident’s bicycle.

Oct. 18, home burglary. Where: Landmark at Grayson Park, Bruce B. Downs Boulevard. Someone smashed the rear sliding door of an apartment and stole a variety of electronics totaling more than $2,200.
