Crime Blotter: Appliance Stolen, Alarm Thwarts Car Battery Thief

A roundup of recent crime in New Tampa.


The following crimes were recently reported to Tampa Police:

Aug. 2, attempted auto burglary: Someone manipulated the hoods of two vehicles parked on Anniston Circle at the Palma Vista condos and attempted to steal the car batteries. But a car alarm went off and the suspect fled, leaving behind both batteries.

July 31, auto burglary: An unlocked vehicle parked on Ancient Futures in Easton Park was burglarized sometime 1:20 p.m. and 1:55 p.m. Someone stole a purse with $60 in cash, a driver’s license and cell phone.

July 25-30, home burglary: Someone stole a stainless steel range from a vacant Coral Key Avenue home in Heritage Isles. , police said.
