Man Dies on New Tampa Sidewalk

A homeowner found the man and called for help.

A New Tampa resident came across a grisly discovery this evening – the body of a bleeding man on the sidewalk near his home.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the homeowner at 9658 Fox Hearst Road in the Pebble Creek area found the man around 7:55 p.m. July 19. The man, who is believed to be between the age of 18 and 25, was lying on the sidewalk bleeding.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue came out and the man was pronounced dead, a sheriff’s office media release said.

“The victim does not live at the residence and the homeowner does not know him,” wrote sheriff’s office spokeswoman Debbie Carter in the release. “Preliminary indications are that the victim suffered trauma to the upper body.”

The investigation continues.
