Man Strangled, Threw Pepsi Can at Mom, Deputies Say

He faces a charge of domestic violence by strangulation.

He was upset about his mother's boyfriend. So he got in her face, then put her in a choke hold, deputies say.

According to a Pasco County complaint affidavit, Kevin Brian Green, 20, of Wesley Chapel yelled at his mother, then threw a Pepsi can at her car. When she got out of the vehicle, Green got in her face then put her in a rear choke hold, the report stated.

Green let her go, then grabbed her again, and again began choking her from behind. The woman could not breathe during the altercation, the report stated.

The incident was witnessed by Green's 13-year-old brother, who was sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle, according to the report.

The responding deputy noted several scratches around the woman's neck, from "ear to ear."

Green of 3911 New River Road, Apt. 2, was arrested Oct. 12 and charged with domestic battery by strangulation. He remained in the Land O' Lakes jail on Monday in lieu of $5,000 bond.
