A Manatee Is Not a Horse; Do Not Ride It

A 53-year-old woman accused of riding a manatee was arrested this weekend, charged with violating the Manatee Sanctuary Act, Pinellas Beaches Patch reported.

Pictures of Ana Gloria Garcia Gutierrez astride a sea cow in Fort De Soto Park on Sept. 30 had gone viral over the Internet. She later turned herself into authorities, saying she was new to the area and was unaware she was violating the law.

On Nov. 24, deputies arrested her at her job in St. Petersburg, according to Pinellas Beaches Patch.

Teen Fatally Shoots Father to Allegedly Save His Mother

A 17-year-old fatally shot his father in an alleged attempt to save his mother from being strangled by the dad.

According to Brandon Patch, Channing Thorpe killed his father, Christopher Thorpe, 36, with a handgun in the master bedroom of their Antioch home.

An altercation with the elder Thorpe and his wife, Jill, allegedly went from verbal to physical, Brandon Patch reported.

One of the bullets struck Channing’s mom in the thigh.

 

Jury Being Picked in Dee Dee Moore Trial

Lottery winner Abraham Shakespeare died in 2010.

Now, the woman accused of killing him and burying him under concrete — Dee Dee Moore — is gearing up for her trial. Jury selection began this week, according to My Fox Tampa Bay.

The trial is sure to receive widespread attention.

 

Naked Man Racks Up Charges

A 30-year-old man faces a litany of charges following an alleged romp on the Tarpon Springs Golf Course in nothing but construction boots. 

Abraham Andres Luna, 30, allegedly went streaking in Tarpon Springs but authorities were unable to catch him. Later, he went to Pasco County where he assaulted a store clerk and crashed into a deputy's cruiser.
