The man who died on a Pebble Creek sidewalk has been identified as Grant Woodham, 18, of Mulligan Court.
His death has now been ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner’s Office, too.
Authorities were called to Pebble Creek Village shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday after Woodham was found on the walkway leading to 9658 Fox Hearst Road, suffering from heavy trauma to his upper body.
Hillsborough Fire Rescue responded but was unable to save Woodham, who died at the scene. The homeowner does not know Woodham and authorities are still attempting to piece together what happened.
Neighbors today described Thursday’s grisly scene — one full of cop cars, police tape, blood spatters and yelling and crying from what they assume were Woodham’s loved ones.
“The crime scene was part of my yard,” said one man, who did not want his name published. “Nothing ever happens here. That’s why we moved here . … (Now) we won’t let our kids out.”
Another neighbor was out walking his dog Friday. He also did not want his named published.
“I’m concerned about what happened, but I don’t know about (the idea of) a suspect on the loose,” he said.
