Suspect Arrested in Drug Deal Shooting

Authorities have arrested a 22-year-old Punta Gorda man in connection with the shooting of Devyn Hardy. Hardy was shot once in the face and is in stable condition at Tampa General Hospital.

 

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of Devyn Hardy at the Lofts Apartments.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office announced that it has taken Jonathan Murphy, of Punta Gorda, into custody. Hardy, 19, of 4050 Rocky Circle in Tampa, was shot once in the face during a drug transaction inside his apartment.

Hardy was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he remains in
stable condition and is expected to survive.

Murphy has been charged with attempted felony murder and armed burlary of a dwelling.

The tape showed Hardy entering a doorway, followed in by the two suspects.
