Wesley Chapel Shooting Victim Dies

The incident is now being classified as a homicide.

A Wesley Chapel man hospitalized after being shot at his residence Wednesday has died from his injuries.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says the man, now identified as Timothy Leigh Skowronski of 30122 Eastport Drive, died at St. Joseph's Hospital. The case is now considered a homicide.

Authorities had initially misstated the 31-year-old's age.

The shooting incident unfolded Wednesday after 9 p.m. at Skowronski's residence. The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says an unknown gunman came to the house via the back porch. Authorities used K-9 and air search to locate the culprit but could not find him.

"Deputies have combed the neighborhood so we believe the suspect is no
longer in the area," the sheriff's office said in a media release. "Four people were home at the time of the shooting."

The investigation is ongoing.
