Woman Crossing I-275 Hit by Two Vehicles

The 25-year-old St. Petersburg woman was trying to walk across an outside lane when she was hit by two vehicles.

A 25-year-old St. Petersburg woman walking on I-275 was hit by two vehicles.

The incident is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.

Rebecca Fortenbery was crossing the outside lane of southbound Interstate 275 of 22nd Avenue North.

She was hit by two vehicles traveling in the outside lane of southbound I275, south of 22nd Avenue North.

Fortenbery was struck first by a 2004 Toyota 4Runner and then by a 2012 Ford F250.

The Toyota was driven by 54-year-old Robin May of St. Petersburg. The Ford was driven by 49-year-old Dale Zeman of Tampa.

Fortenbery was transported to Bayfront where she remains in critical, but stable condition.
