In an effort to give an opportunity to discuss their platforms and speak to voters, Northdale is hosting a 'Meet the Candidates' night on July 25.

A meet and greet will start at 6:30 p.m., and the candidates will speak at 7 p.m. during the event at the Northdale Recreation Center, 15550 Spring Pine Drive.

"This includes candidates all the way from sheriff to supervisor of elections down to candidates for judgeship and school board members," said Ann Frisbie of the Northdale Civic Association.

The event, which is held during every election year, is sponsored by the civic association, Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department and Northdale Park.

Frisbie's goal for the event is for the public to be as informed as possible before casting a vote.

"There's so many people running for school board, and different judges, that they don't get as much opportunity to get out there and meet with the public."
