Hargreaves Going to University of Florida

Wharton's Vernon Hargreaves III, a top-ranked high school cornerback who will graduate in 2013, has verbally committed to the Florida Gators.

After tweeting his top five schools last week, Vernon Hargreaves III has decided to attend the University of Florida.

The rising Wharton High School senior, who has been showered with scholarship offers and is considered the top cornerback prospect, made his decision Thursday, according to www.tbo.com.

Here's what Hargreaves wrote on Twitter: "I can officially say I am committed to THE University of Florida !#GoGators CHOMP CHOMP."

Bulls fans might have hoped Hargreaves would attend the University of South Florida where his father is an assistant coach. But although the younger Hargreaves said he was "still considering" USF as of last week, the school did not make his top five.
