Why a New Tampa Resident Wants a Crossing Guard Near Benito Middle School

Do you agree that there should be more safety measures in place at the intersection of Cross Creek Boulevard and Kinnan Street?

Cross Creek Boulevard is a busy road, and at least one New Tampa resident wants a crossing guard where it intersects with Kinnan Street at Benito Middle School.

Julianne DePriest-Bertrand has been trying for months to get the guard, according to a story posted on Bay News 9. Nearby residents also want the City of Tampa to post a lowered school zone speed limit at peak load and unload times for schools on Cross Creek Boulevard.

The Hillsborough County school district provides transportation to schools in the area so students don’t have to walk or bike to school, the story states.
