Relay for Life 2013 Raises $100,000 and Counting

Donations will be accepted online through Aug. 31.

Tom Gruber is pleased with this year’s Relay for Life turnout.

“We had 850 people registered, which is 50 percent more than we had last year,” said Gruber, who co-chaired New Tampa’s event with Lesley Zajac.

The Relay took place at Freedom High School. It began May 17 at 6 p.m. and stretched until May 18 at noon.

“It went great,” Gruber said.

Relay for Life of New Tampa 2013 has raised $100,000 so far, Gruber said, and donations are being accepted through Aug. 31.
