Tom Gruber is pleased with this year’s Relay for Life turnout.
“We had 850 people registered, which is 50 percent more than we had last year,” said Gruber, who co-chaired New Tampa’s event with Lesley Zajac.
The Relay took place at Freedom High School. It began May 17 at 6 p.m. and stretched until May 18 at noon.
“It went great,” Gruber said.
Relay for Life of New Tampa 2013 has raised $100,000 so far, Gruber said, and donations are being accepted through Aug. 31.
