While it can take 10 - 12 working days to receive a birth certificate by mail, Vital Statistics says visitors with the requisite information can receive one in person within 30 - 40 minutes if they come during business hours. Vital Statistics sits at the same address for the University Area Community Health Center, which is also home to the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and Healthy Start programs.
