Obama vs. Romney: Local Political Influencers Weigh In on 3rd Debate

Patch surveyed 132 local political influencers immediately following the third presidential debate.

While political pundits duke it out over who won the third and final presidential debate, Patch decided to take a different route. Instead of relying on professional analysts to tell us whether President Barack Obama or former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney took home the win, we turned to our readers. We surveyed 132 influential conservatives and liberals right after the debate and asked them their thoughts on the biggest moments of the Oct. 22 showdown between Obama and Romney. Patch Is Collecting Questions for Obama and Romney During the Next Presidential Debate

If you have a question for the candidates, submit it in the comments section below and it could be asked during the televised Oct. 16 Town Hall Presidential Debate.

If last Wednesday’s presidential debate left you with more questions than answers, here’s your chance for the presidential candidates to address the issues that most matter to you. The next presidential debate will be a town hall meeting format at Hofstra University in Long Island, where voters will ask President Obama and Mitt Romney about domestic and foreign policy. Robyn, Because we don't have enough oil. The amount of oil we have is less than 1% of the world's oil, and wouldn't be enough to truly keep up sustained for any real length of time. NBC, USF Will Proceed With Debate as Planned

Despite earlier reports that the Republican Presidential Candidates Debate would not be televised, NBC and USF say the event is moving forward as scheduled.

  NBC and the University of South Florida (USF) are continuing to prepare for the NBC News, National Journal, Tampa Bay Times Republican Presidential Candidates Debate, which is scheduled to take place Monday at USF beginning at 9 p.m. According to Erika Masonhall, director of NBC News Communications, the network still intends to proceed with the event and hopes and expects that all qualifying candidates will participate. USF had a similar statement. “We’re proceeding as planned,” said Lara Wade-Martinez, USF spokesperson. Local news media reported Friday afternoon that NBC would not air the debate as it originally scheduled. USF Preps for Presidential Debate, Watch Party

The community is invited Monday to the University of South Florida, the location of a Republican Presidential Candidates Debate and watch party.

  The University of South Florida (USF) is hosting aRepublican Presidential Candidates Debate on Monday at 9 p.m. in partnership with NBC News, the Tampa Bay Times, National Journal, and the Florida Council of 100. Public tickets to the live debate are unavailable, so while it’s taking place in Theatre I, USF’s Student Government will be hosting a watch party on the western end of the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza lawn, close to the theater. The party is free and open to students and the public. The debate will be broadcast live on a large projection screen inside an enclosed 1,000-person tent, according to a USF press release.
